''What would Dickens write today?''
Dickens is one of the greatest writers in England and not only in England but also in the whole world. ’’What would Dickens write today?’’ ,to tell the truth I have thought of it several times after reading his books .They are so realistic and informative .Dickens ‘s writing style is florid and poetic ,with a little comic touch .Dickens loved the style of 18th century gothic romance .One character most vividly drown throughout his novels is London itself .All authors incorporate autobiographical elements in their fiction, but with Dickens this is very noticeable particularly as he took pains to cover up what he considered his shameful ,lonely past.
At a time when Britain was the major economic and political power of the world Dickens highlighted the life of the forgotten poor and disadvantaged at the heart of empire. Unfortunately the poverty and injustice still exist everywhere. So he would surely go on writing about them. It may seem strange but now the earth itself seems so small that if something happens in one part of the earth everyone feels its effect in his own country. As to me now Dickens would draw in his novels world’s sorrow and joy , pain and achievements .In my opinion he would write as well about politicians, the Royal Family, education , youth. I think with his little comic touch the novels or the stories would be very interesting and also not boring but funny and entertaining .
In Victorian times the technology was not developed so much as nowadays. But today it plays an important role in our lives . So in my opinion he would also write about modern technologies. And to do it ,I think he would certainly make use of them as no one can do without them.
Dickens may have hoped for the foundation of a Humanitarian Fund to help people in need. He would not be indifferent to all fillings of the people who suffer from illnesses , have lost their houses, jobs and their hope to live in general. He would touch all these problems in his stories and make the society join their efforts to solve them.
As Dickens said. “I hope that real love and truth are stronger in the end than any evil or misfortune in the world.”
